This HOOF PAD system is the best padding we have used in 20 years. This product comes from Germany. We get a full year of use from a set of pads. We are using both the rim pad and the full mesh pad. We NEVER shoe a metal shoe direct to the hoof. We believe the shock produced by metal to hoof will create problems with the foot and bone support column. New item for 07. I used these hoof pads for many years before I started with the LUWEX pads. These pads work great and really do reduce the shock.
This shoe is a shock absorbing polyurethane over an aluminum FULL shoe. This shoe acts as a bar shoe and offers great support in addition to superior shock protection and extended wear. We get at least 3 shoeing cycles, depending on the miles we ride and the type trails. The shoe takes a little time to install. Instructions are provided. Our shoer can install a pair in about 45 minutes. We have used these on the Old Dominion trails, both the 50 and the 100. We use this shoe if we are going to ride rocky and rough trails. The traction on rocks and slick roads is outstanding. The ONLY problem with this shoe is with mud or wet grass. The shoe will slip and slide in clay trails.
