Additional information for dosage amounts of PERFORM AND WIN electrolytes.

The usage and dose information provided by the mfg. applies to normal horse use.

The endurance horse requires considerably higher dosage amounts.

You have to find out based on your horse, the weather, trail and how you ride what the correct dosage is for each horse.

This product is of a lower concentration, the electrolytes are ‘soft’. That is they will not burn or irritate most horse’s mouth.  Horses appear to like this product and do not spit it out nor refuse to eat and drink after administration.

It is the generally accepted recommendation to provide 4 to 6 oz (scoop) per vet check.   Based on about 15 miles per loop.

Mix in a cup  with water or applesauce or baby food carrots. Make the mix to a paste type consistency.

Recommend the use of clean used elyte syringes or other supplement syringes that are strong. Use larger syringes for the 2 oz mix and the smaller syringes for the 1 oz mix.

Give a 2 oz dose when first in the VC then another 2 oz dose on the way out.

On trail supplementation recommendation is, 1 to 2 oz each hour or 10 to 15 miles.  I prefer to give at least ONE oz halfway through any loop or distance between the VC and more then ONE hour between a dose

The bottom line is to test the use of this product at home, and then adjust the dosage based on the actual ride.
