CONDITIONING  -DATA COLLECTION

 I will publish  few papers on the assorted methods I use, and others use to condition their horses at a  later time

 I have been doing some conditioning rides  using the TIMEX GPS+HR system. Data collection and analysis has been a problem. That is the logging and journaling of the conditioning session. Such data should be recorded  for each session and logged for future reference and comparisons.

I use to work with  a log book and write the information to describe the ride. However with more data to record, HR and now the GPS data, I find the use of memory (mine) to not be so reliable. I use to take a pen and 3x5 cards along and jot down notes. These notes, post ride, would end up in a pile and never be entered in the written or  typed journal.

Lately I have not been journaling the rides. This   data is important for me to evaluate the progress of the conditioning  program. 

I am working 3 horses. I wanted to keep track of each horse's performance and monitor the condition closer then I have been doing.

I was given one of these DIGITAL VOICE RECORDERS. What a neat tool . The one I have is a RS  14-195 . It holds 125 minutes . I use the higher quality and get about 45 minutes of verbal notes. I hang it around my neck on a lace and place it in the jacket pocket. It is very easy to use, press on to record press to stop. It has great sound quality. I can hear the horses hoof beats as we go along.

These log files are an example of how I condition, what I like to document about each session. If you do not mind downloading the files and listing to some of my comments, it may be helpful or at least interesting?? Sort of going along live for a conditioning ride with Roger and Omni ? :))

The following files are my first shot at up loading the MP3 file to the web. I am going to try to  use my web site to store the MP3 files. I may take up too much space. I am looking for a MP3 file server web site
